Financially:
The hospice requires approximately $500,000 a year for the community to operate annually.
This is the shortfall between the Government funding available and the level of care that
we believe our patients deserve.
- General donations are warmly accepted at any time. These can be made online through the Hospice New Zealand
website and will come to the Marlborough Community Hospice.
- In addition, other opportunities to donate are offered throughout the year including:
envelope and street appeals, direct mailouts, raffles, dinners. auctions and other events.
- Regular donations can be set up via automatic payment.
- Major donations can be discussed with the Promotions Coordinator at the hospice number.
- Printed information on bequests or deferred giving is also available.
The Marlborough Community Hospice also has a forever
Foundation. People may choose to give donations to the Foundation. The capital sum will
never be spent but over time the accumulated interest will help support and develop the
hospice into the future. Click here

Donations in Kind
In general, the hospice needs money primarily to cover ongoing operational expenses.
For this reason we much prefer gifts of money which can be used to pay for essential
costs.
However, some supporters have items of value which they would like to give the hospice
e.g. jewellery, artwork, furniture, vehicles. People are urged to contact the
hospice to discuss their intentions in this area.
Other supporters would like to purchase a specific item or service for the hospice. A
small wish list is kept and is available on request.
Special events:
The hospice runs a variety of promotional and fundraising events during the year. These
include dinners, raffles, quiz nights, participation in community festivals and galas.
Many of our supporters choose to organise their own event or activity to raise money for
the hospice. This is a fun and valuable way to support a good cause. Our Promotions
Coordinator can provide help and guidance and should be approached at the start of
planning any event.
