We have over 200 volunteers regularly working for Hospice Marlborough. They are a valued part of the hospice team and as a group donate hundreds of hours to the hospice every year.

Prospective volunteers complete an application form, attend an informal interview with the Coordinator of Volunteers and participate in both formal and ‘on the job’ training.

Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Assisting in the in-patient unit
  • Reception duties
  • Assistance with catering
  • Support for patients and family in the community
  • Bereavement support
  • Biography writing
  • Flower arrangement
  • Delivering equipment
  • Gardening
  • Working in the Hospice Shop
  • Helping out with fundraising activities on a regular or occasional basis

Hospice Volunteers Needed

The Hospice is looking for volunteers to assist with…..
Serving meals
In the Inpatient Unit. This is required for morning and evening on Saturdays. 6 people each slot would be enough to cover 1 Saturday per month and allow for sickness, family visits and holidays etc.
Day Programme
Wednesday each week. Help with morning tea and lunch as well as interaction with patients.
Car Groomers
We have 3 cars and a van which need a good wash and some TLC usually on the weekend.
