We have over 190 volunteers regularly working for the Marlborough Community Hospice. They are a valued part of the hospice team and as a group donate hundreds of hours to the hospice every year.

Prospective volunteers complete an application form, attend an informal interview with the Coordinator of Volunteers and participate in both formal and ‘on the job’ training.

Volunteer opportunities include:

• Assisting in the inpatient unit
• Reception duties
• Assistance with catering
• Support for patients and family in the community
• Bereavement support
• Biography writing
• Flower arrangement
• Delivering equipment
• Gardening
• Working in the Hospice Shop
• Helping out with fundraising activities on a regular or occasional basis
