Bright and friendly with a wide variety of merchandise, the Hospice Shop is open Monday to Saturday. The Marlborough Hospice Trust exists to raise money and financially support the Marlborough Community Hospice. The Trust operates the Hospice Shop.

Behind the scenes at the Hospice Shop - Déjà vu (excerpt from Autumn 2007 newsletter)

Déjà vu reflects Marlborough Hospice Trust vision to have a shop occupying a niche position at the top end of the local charity shops. Within less than a year, the Hospice Shop (Déjà vu) has become a very successful charity shop. It operates efficiently and profitably to financially support the hospice.

This success is underpinned by careful strategic planning. As Marlene, Manager of Déjà vu explains, “This is not a traditional ‘opportunity shop’. An ‘op shop’ is primarily set up to support those in need. Generally the price on donated items is low and directed towards helping those in need". Déjà vu, as a ‘charity shop’, is set up specifically to raise funds for hospice. To do this, staff seek to secure the best return from any donated article.

“People on lower incomes and people who could afford to buy new, shop at Déjà vu” says Marlene. Staff pride themselves on a shop which is clean and well presented. One recent customer described how the shop “draws us in and makes us want to buy”.

“If you haven’t visited the store, please drop by and have a browse around” invites Marlene and her team. Déjà vu is always keen to receive good quality second hand items. It is a treasure-trove for shoppers looking for that special something for their home, wardrobe or as a gift for a friend".
